…it is to do with negotiating the proximity of a distance that is neither near or far, here nor there. when you where there, as you once were here, you were also elsewhere. something is always elsewhere. it is to this that an allegiance is pledged and renounced, cut away and inscribed; the hollow shadow that is always hinting at its fullness, at its once and once notness. to reaffirm the elsewhere is to reaffirm what is other; the other of the elsewhere that you once experienced and are experiencing today

November 1, 2007 by banalasanythingthis blog represents my poetry coming of age. for too long I have neglected your capacity – it has almost been a preoccupation. now I will write more clearly, I will let the jokes sustain themselves in the spaces, I will not write as much. sentiment will be exchanged for eroticism, which is a kind of sentiment, which a condition of exchange. my poetry will no longer ape itself, but will flicker like a candle; death prefigured but dancing and illuminating shadows, forgetting to remember more; a cow that constantly shits itself.
